It can be challenging to support people through the uncertainty of a rare cancer experience. Diagnoses are often late and protracted, making the cancer more difficult to treat. There isn’t as much research to rely on given the smaller population sizes, and the lack of available data can also make estimating a prognosis very difficult.
We specialise in the rare cancer experience, and can partner with you to find the answers, resources and options you need for patients facing a complicated cancer diagnosis.
Supporting your patients
We provide support from every angle to people impacted by a rare or less common cancer. Our Specialist Cancer Navigators can help patients manage the emotional and financial challenges a diagnosis can bring and connect them with others who understand. Whatever matters to the patient, matters to us.
We also offer unlimited clinical support, doing whatever it takes to change the story of a rare cancer diagnosis. We can help your patient:
- understand their diagnosis, what to expect and questions to ask
- understand the treatments, medications and/or clinical trials recommended to them
- navigate their way through the healthcare system and advocate for themselves
- navigate genomic testing so you both have more information on their unique cancer
- understand what to do if there is no treatment available
- find and participate in suitable clinical trials if their treatment options are limited
