Chan Cheah

MBBS, FRACP, DMsc

Dr Cheah is a Haematologist and Clinical Researcher practising at Hollywood Private and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospitals. He graduated from the University of Western Australia and completed post-graduate training at Fremantle Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne). He then completed fellowships in translational research at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and an Advanced Fellowship in Lymphoma at the world’s premier cancer institution, MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, Texas, USA).

Dr Cheah is an expert in the management of lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. He is passionate about providing high quality, evidence based care and improving access for WA patients to the latest drug treatments. He is at the forefront of clinical research as lead investigator on numerous clinical trials involving novel agents in the treatment of lymphoma. His contributions include over 60 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood and Annals of Oncology. He is a regular reviewer for major journals in the field. Dr Cheah is an adjunct clinical senior lecturer at the University of Western Australia and is the Haematology Discipline Coordinator for the UWA Doctor of Medicine degree (MD). He educates trainee Haematologists about lymphoma and clinical research and speaks regularly at local, national and international meetings.
