Dr Kim Isaacs is a Surgical Oncologista doctor who specialises in diagnosisng and treating cancer with surgery and General Surgeon, and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She completed her training in General Surgerytreatment involving removal of cancerous tissue and/or tumours and a margin of healthy tissue around it to reduce recurrence at Prince of Wales Hospital (Sydney). This was followed with clinical fellowships in Melanomaa type of cancer that develops from melanocytes, which are the cells that produce pigment generally in the skin (but can develop in other areas of the body) at the Melanoma Institute Australia (Sydney), Sarcomacancer arising from bones and/or soft tissue and Soft Tissuetissue/the material that joins, holds up or surrounds inside body parts such as fat, muscle, ligaments and lining around joints Tumours at the Royal Marsden Hospital (London) and Endocrine Surgery at The Hammersmith Hospital (London). On her return to Australia she completed a further two years of clinical fellowship in General Surgery and Surgical Oncologythe study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer at The Tweed Hospital (Tweed Heads) where she participated in the on call roster and managed the Melanoma Tissuea group of cells that work together to perform a function Bank in conjunction with Griffith University.
Dr Isaacs is passionate about the surgical management of patients with cancera disease where abnormal cells split without control and spread to other nearby body tissue and/or organs. She enjoys treating all types of skin and soft tissue tumours, as well as the surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disease. She actively teaches medical students and junior doctors, and clinical appointments at the University of New South Wales, Notre Dame University, Griffith University and Bond University.
