Over the past 3 years RCA has made great progress in raising awareness of the challenges faced by Australians with a rare and less common cancer. Through its constant media presence, policy research program, signature events and co-operation with other cancer groups, RCA has been instrumental in significantly raising the profile of rare cancers and in particular the issues rare cancer patients face in accessing lifesaving and life-extending treatments through the PBS.

Patient Treatment Fund
Being diagnosed with a rare cancer is a major challenge for tens of thousands of Australians every year. For many this devastating news comes with the additional burden that their finances and lifestyle will be seriously undermined as they struggle with their deteriorating health and burdensome expenses. In many instances Australians are missing out on life saving and life extending treatments because of affordability.
Our Patient Treatment Fund has raised over $3,000,000 to help Australians with rare and less common cancers access treatment not currently approved for PBS funding. With your help and generosity, we can make a real difference and create better outcomes for rare cancer patients and their families.
